Tips and Tricks

Q.  How to make your Jukebox have play a certain sound file when starting the car?

A.  You can make your car play a particular sound when starting your car or you can make it play a random music file.

  1. Mount your DMS cartridge

  2. Within PHTSYS volume make a directory called Startup_Sound_Dir

  3. Put your .mp3's that you want to play, you can choose one or have multiple for random sounds when starting vehicle

  4. Within PHTSYS volume open up the phatbox.ini file

  5. Towards the top under [Phatbox] insert startup_sound=rand:/dos/Startup_Sound_Dir

  6. Save the file and exit.

Q.  How do I make the voices sound better when annoucing them?

A.  You can download new .wav files that will sound better.  It's a tedious process but well worth it especially for the Artist's names.

  1. Open up your browser and go to:  http://naturalvoices.att.com/demos

  2. Select the Language and Voice

  3. Select .wav as Output Format

  4. Select 22KHz next to Sample Rate

  5. Type in the word you want to auto-generate (Note you may need to phonetically spell it out for it to sound properly)

  6. Save the file to a location you will remember

  7. Play the file to make sure that it sound proper

  8. If the file sounds good then copy it to the PHTDATA volume in the TTS folder
